The SPM provides a PMC I/O Module (PIM) interface that the SCM can use.

A connector is provided that is designed to support a unique processor daughter card that could

be used as a shelf manager on the SPM if a PIM is not used and no other shelf manager is

available in the shelf (see Figure 9, Interior connectors, on page 25).
