When not ‘active,’ the Renesas H8S/2168 microcontroller in the IPMC subsystem will configure
the SPM external interfaces as follows:
RTM function for front module
Zone 3 connector (ATCA-5000 only)
Connections to the module in the front of the shelf are made through a 3x32 DIN connector in
the ATCA-defined Zone 3 area on the ATCA-5000. The pinout for the Zone 3 connector is
shown in Table 9, “ATCA-5000 3x32 Zone 3 connector pin assignments,” on page 26.
The signals in the Zone 3 connector are connected as follows.
PMC I/O module
The SPM contains a site to accommodate signal I/O for PMC modules on the front module.
External I/O is accomplished through a standard PMC I/O Module (PIM). The PIM site is
compliant with VITA 36 draft 0.1. The PIM site has a separate set of power supplies, matching
the supplies (+5V, +3.3V, and ±12V) used for the PMC site on the front module.
The PIM site consists of two connectors labeled ‘Jn0’ and ‘Jn4’. The SPM connects the power
supplies to a Jn0 connector and the signals from a ‘Jn4’ connector of a PMC site on the front
module to the Jn4 connector on the SPM. Table 10, “Jn0 PIM connector pin assignments,” on
page 28 and Table 11, “Jn4 PIM connector pin assignments,” on page 29 show the pinouts of
the Jn0 and Jn4 connectors for the PIM.

C buses on IPMB-0 can be individually isolated by Renesas H8S/2168 microcontroller software.
Signal Description
RTM:EJECT# This signal is a digital output connected to a GPIO on the IPMC FPGA. The signal is open
collector, and should be pulled up to a maximum DC level of 5 volts with a maximum low
level current draw of 10 mA. The maximum low level output voltage is 0.1 volts.
A low level output indicates that the ATCA-5000 eject switch input is active.
RTM:PRESENT# This signal is grounded on the ATCA-5000.
